Onwards! To the land of make believe!!

I recall pretending to see things in the garden, fairies and the like. I lived in this amazing fantasy that I concocted in my mind and was blissfully unaware of whether it was true or not true. In fact it didn’t even matter when others would say it wasn’t true and I was just making it up. The funny thing is both were true. I was making it up but it also did exist to me at the time.

As we grow older, we use less and less of our imagination, consciously.

Our imagination hasn’t stopped, our awareness of our imagination has, or it is dismissed, squashed and seen as nothing.

Creativity is the use of imagination or original ideas to create something.

Think about the last time you were creative. Perhaps it was an idea about an invention, a new movie, a new book idea, an entrepreneurial business idea. Or perhaps, it was that you imagined visiting a tropical island like Bora Bora just unwind and relax. Did you follow through with the idea or did you dismiss it?

When we use our creative thinking now as adults, how many times do we dismiss what we receive.

We fobbed it off as an illusion, wishful thinking, and unlikely to ever happen.

We single-handily crush our creativity as soon as we receive it.

We think that it is weird, people will think I am crazy if I suggest that or there is no way I am going to share that, I’ll end up in the nut house! or worse, we think that will never happen for me.

But then there are examples where people have built amazing careers using their creativity.

Creativity is everywhere – books, movies, plays, illustrations, music anything artistic is built on creativity. But even when we are sitting in a work meeting and asked to think of a new idea, I am positive people recieve amazing ideas but seldom share it because of fear.

In our everyday lives, we seldom give ourselves permission to use our creative nature.

We seldom use it to create the life we would love to live. Some of us don’t even know what that life even looks like.

Creativity and imagination are a must if you want to be a masterful creator. To be able to create the dream job, the intimate relationship, complete that book, whatever it is you wish to create for yourself. You need to be able to imagine and think creatively.

Give yourself permission to be creative.

Go on, I dare you!
