Is it the head, or the gut?
Making the choice to live intuitively i.e. to be guided by your intuition seems simple enough, right?
After 20 years of tapping into and applying my intuition, there are times when I stop and think, is this really my intuition guiding me or is my ‘ego’ just telling me I should do it, out of fear of missing out?
How does one tell the difference?
It is obvious when you look at the statement above.
‘When I stop and think’
‘is this really my intuition?’
‘Telling me I should do it’
These statements point to second-guessing what I received.
A simple method for using your intuition is:
Set the intention to receive guidance using your intuition and be specific, what is it are you seeking guidance for?
Allow your mind to be free for just a moment
Simply observe what you see, hear, feel, know, smell- whatever it is
Interpret what you receive ie the symbol, words etc meant to you at that time and in that moment
What feeling is associated with what you received? Sometimes you may feel uncomfortable and sometimes the feeling maybe ever so subtle
What is this feeling guiding you to do?
Sometimes what you receive feels uncomfortable – ask yourself, why does it feel uncomfortable, you can admit the truth to yourself.
Is it because it is something out of your comfort zone?
Is it because you don’t think you have the resources (time, money, people etc) to be able to follow through?
Is it because you simply don’t want to do it?
All could be true.
The old saying is also true.
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always gotten!
Like Yoga is a practice, so too is using your intuition.
The more you do it, the more in tune with your intuition you become.
