The importance of completion at the end of the year

As we are fast approaching the end of the year, reflecting on the year that was can be quite powerful.

Some feel that doing a ‘completion’ at the end of the year is like ‘yeh that’s nice to do but doesn’t really do anything’. I beg to differ.

A completion is affording some quiet time for yourself to reflect on what you have created for yourself this year. You may have created several things or only one thing sticks out to you. It maybe a positive creation in your life or perceived negative creation. Either way, its important to acknowledge what you have created. It is more powerful if you do this intuitively. Which is easy.

Simply make 10-15mins quiet time for yourself, free from distraction, turn the phone off, no music just space for you to reflect.

Set your intention to serve yourself powerfully, to bring to light everything that you have created for yourself this year and just start writing (or voice recording). Initially, your first few things you write/speak are what’s in the forefront of your mind, what’s just underneath the surface (this is good insight to where your focus has been going to). Then as you continue to write down things, ask yourself ‘so what else have I created?’ and keep writing.

Then take a moment to reset.

Now set your intention to become aware of all the things you are ‘over’ creating in your life. What I mean by this, all those niggly things you tend to unconsciously, or in some cases consciously, create which you feel gets your farther away from your truth, from what you truly would love to create! Let loose on this one. Start writing and don’t stop writing until you have asked yourself at least three times, ‘so what else am I over creating that doesn’t serve me well?’.

Lastly, this is the finale! This is the masterpiece of completion.

Set your intention now to clearly know what you will create in 2022. Again, this is always good when you do it intuitively. I have learnt a great technique from William Whitecloud ((naturalsuccessacademy.com) in how to tap into your intuition quickly and powerfully.

You can simply imagine stepping into a circle you have defined as ‘My creations for 2022’ and just observe whatever comes up for you and what is obvious about what comes up for you. Write it all down.

So why is this all important? I am glad you asked.

When we acknowledge what we have created to ourselves, the year that was, whether positive or negatively, we are confirming to our subconscious that this year is over, complete. What we have created this year is done, over with, cant change it, no need to dwell on it or spend more time on it.

It is also a good time to reflect on what you want to create for the next year. Goal setting if you like but with conviction – to anchor and reinforce with clarity to yourself what it is you will focus on to create in the year to come.

William inspired me today to write this blog. Thanks William Whitecloud!

I find a good coach helps me to stay anchored in what I want to create and helps me to remain aware of any of those old patterns that no longer serve me, begin to creep in.  If I am aware of it, I can shift the power to what I truly want to create instead of unconsciously creating what I don’t want.
